About Us
The SBDC National Information Clearinghouse (SBDCNet) is the SBDC’s centralized research facility for approximately 1100 SBDCs in the United States and territories. Hosted by the University of Texas at San Antonio’s (UTSA) Institute for Economic Development, the research provided to America’s entrepreneurs is at no cost when requested through the no cost business advising services offered by the SBDC.
The SBDCNet research resources include the University of Texas databases, online subscriptions and an on-site library to provide current solutions to hundreds of information requests monthly. Full and part time staff are the backbone of this research activity.
Visit our website (http://sbdcnet.org) for a hands-on look at some of the best and most often used research sites. There, you will find resources for business advisors and business owners who may choose to perform their own research. The SBDC Business Advisor Toolkit offers a collection of SBDC counselor-developed tools such as spreadsheets, diagnostic checklists, forms, brochures and articles. The document exchange contains a variety of downloadable forms and business tools in both English and Spanish.
Need a map? SBDCNet, using GIS mapping software and up-to-date census data, can provide demographic analyses, ring studies and complex mapping of competitors and potential consumer markets. SBDCNet is an affiliate of the US Census Bureau’s Business and Industry Data Center (BICD) network. This provides access to a wide variety of census population, housing and economic data.
